We've just released three new widgets!
- 270* dial (hat tip to @Ian_Eagland, thanks for the suggestion)
- Joystick: one of our first 'control' widgets, move around your stuff in real time with one line of code! (props to @mkarliner for this, quite a nice bit of code)
- Keypad (hat tip to @hern16, who allowed us to recreate something cool he'd done and share it with everyone)
There are several more good ones in the works, but we're currently working on nailing the ones we've got.
We'd really like to thank all of you for your input; as you can see 2 of the 3 come directly from either your suggestions or contributions. It's inspiring to see a community beginning to develop around ThingStudio, and we really mean it when we say we value your feedback.
You'll probably notice there are now 4 tabs in your Widgets library instead of just two. This is because there are now two types of widgets: 'widgets' & 'library templates' (i.e. templates available to everyone). You can read a little note about why here
@IIlaw, thanks for that screenshot. We chatted about those widgets today and really like the information density and visual presentation. We've got those on our list.
Soon there will be a ton of useful widgets for you to use in your stuff. Shortly thereafter, we'll be working on providing a nice grid system for you to use to group all this stuff in your screens.
Also, @IIlaw, regarding 'cards' in Blynk, we just pushed a nav menu system to the app viewer this morning, so now if you have more than one template in your app, just hit the hamburger menu in the upper-left-hand corner of your screen to see a list of your widgets. On non-iOS devices you can also just slide your finger in from the left side of the screen to access to menu. Pretty cool!
On iOS, this is less of an option, as Apple recently added this as a way to navigate forward / backward in Safari, so we'll have to come up with a workaround.
So, have a look at the new widgets and let us know what you think!
